ChildRescue, the innovative app to help find missing children, was showcased on national television for International Missing Children’s day

ChildRescue’s Project Partner, the Smile of the Child hosted an event at Zappeion Hall, Athens on the 20th May 2019, to honor International Missing Children’s Day.

Among the specialists, officials and media who attended the event, a representative of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Mr. Christos Ntanos presented the project‘s latest developments and progress.

The presentation was picked up by a popular Greek TV show for missing persons who invited ChildRescue’s partners to explain the use of the application to their audience.  The “Fos sto Tounel- Light in the Tunnel”  show is broadcast in Greece on AlphaTV  Channel, for 2 hours every Friday. It invites its viewers to take action by contributing information on missing persons’ cases that are published. The aim is to actively assist the police in the search of missing persons.

On Friday the 24th May 2019, Dr. Christos Ntanos, from the NTUA, along with Mr Costas Yannopoulos, President of the BoD of “The Smile of the Child”, were invited as guests at the show of the investigation-journalist Mrs. Aggeliki Nikolouli to discuss the relevance of International Missing Children’s Day and present ChildRescue to the general public. The “collective information platform that can turn mobile phones users into “social sensors”” stimulated the audience and many viewers expressed their interest to join as volunteers, when the application is launched in 2020.
